A Brief History of Beanies

For many of us beanies are a sign of comfort, warmth, and love. Resonating strongly with many for sentimental value (seeing a tiny beanie on a newborn baby), we thought it would be fitting to delve a little more into the history of the simple beanie for our first hat history blog. The beanie – as we know it today – has been shown to have originated in the 1900’s in the USA. Getting rid of sweat stains

Whether we like to admit it or not we all know that we have a hat, cap or fedora with a dreaded sweat stain around the hairline. For some this shows that a hat has been loved and lived in, for others it shows that its time to get a new hat. Before throwing out your old hat see if you can salvage it using these tips: Start gentle with a handwash. A washing machine (or dryer for the matter) are too turbulent and rough on hats so a nice hand wash is a good first point of call. Fill a bowl/sink/container with warm water and a tablespoon of laundry detergent, let the hat sit for a couple of hours....

We Won An Award!

Today marks the last day of the 2021/2022 financial year and building on our blog from last week – we just achieved another goal and won an award accredited by Australia Post! Under 60 businesses in AUSTRALIA were given the title of ‘Local Business Hero” and we cannot believe we gained the amazing title in 2022.This all came up because our lovely local Australia Post Office nominated us on their own accord, and we ticked all the boxes that AusPost was looking for in a winner!For us this means that we will be on the receiving end of a package (not the ones sending it for once) that is valued up to $5,000. Reaching our business goals - working with influencers

When you run a small business you have to acknowledge the small wins. Whether it be your first sale, first review, first email newsletter- these small things help us grow and reach great achievements down the track. Well, we finally made it down the track and we are now up to our very first large victory – we worked with an influencer! Inspired by our attendance at the Queen Vic Winter Night Market we thought that we would dedicate this blog to a brief history lesson on the Queen Victoria Market. The market officially opened on the 20th of March 1878 however its origins can be linked back to the 1840's where fruit and vegetable markets were set up in the western suburbs.
